Leading Online Home Improvement Retailer Files Computer Hacking Suit Against PerformanceToilets.com

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2010

Build.com filed a complaint Friday against PerformanceToilets.com (DBA HM Wallace, Inc.) and PriceGrid, LLC in the Sacramento Division of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of California alleging violation of a federal statute governing computer hacking along with state unfair competition and civil conspiracy laws. The case number is 2:2010at00958.

The complaint alleges that PerformanceToilets.com conspired with PriceGrid to extract or scrape data and images from Build.com’s website resulting in multiple denial of service attacks.

“We are appalled at the unethical business practice of HM Wallace, a company who posed as our business partner to gain access to our information,” explained Christian Friedland, founder and president of Build.com. “We will not tolerate the scraping of our servers and anticipate justice will be served with this case.”
